Potstickers are one of my
favorite dishes. I can’t wait for a good time to go to a restaurant to take a taste. So I try to make it to my home. Making potstickers at home is not very
hard and it tastes better than we bought from stores. The most needed ingredient to
make potstickers is Won ton wrappers. Won ton wrappers are easily available in
any grocery store but I love to make my potstickers with fresh one made in my
home. Potstickers generally made with Pork meat, cabbage, and some spices, but the taste is our own so we can make it traditionally or make some changes as per
our wish. As in my potstickers I used Turkey meat instead of pork meat and
believe me it tastes good. I am including the recipe of making Won ton wrappers
too.
Ingredients:-
For filling
1 pound ground turkey meat
1 cup shredded green cabbage
1tbsp garlic paste
1tbsp onion paste
1 tsp white pepper powder
1 tsp black pepper powder
1tbsp marinate sauce
1tbsp green chili paste
½ cup green onions
Salt to taste
For frying potstickers
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
½ cup of water.
Method:-
In a large bowl add ground meat,
shredded cabbage, garlic paste, pepper powder, sesame oil, onion paste, green
chili paste, marinate sauce, salt, spring onions and mix it well. Keep aside
for ½ to 1 hour.
Place won ton wrappers on a work
surface. Put 1 tsp of meat mixture in the center of each won ton wrappers.
Using fingers fold won ton
wrappers over the filling and seal the edges by creating a crescent shape.
Heat oil in a large skillet. Assemble
potstickers in a single layer in the skillet.
Fry for 2 minutes. Add ½ cup of
water and put the lid and cook for 10 minutes in medium heat or until water dries
out. Open the lid and gently shake skillet to loosen pot stickers from skillet.
Serve warm potstickers with soy sauce or red chutney as desired.
Ingredients for Won ton wrappers
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup of water
½ tsp salt
If you are using packaged Won ton
wrappers then you just need to make the filling.
Method:-
In a bowl beat the egg. Add water.
In another bowl add flour and
salt. Slowly add egg and water mixture. Mix well until dough has formed.
On a lightly flour surfaced knead
dough until elastic. Cover it for 30 minutes.
Cut the dough into two pieces.
Cover one piece while working with other.
Make small golf ball like pieces from the
dough. Roll the pieces into 3 ½ inch size.
Won ton wrappers is ready to use.
Happy cooking:-
