 Methi Mouri Murgi:

 I announced today that I am going to make Chicken for lunch. My son loves chicken though my husband not very in favor of it. So after my announcement, there are mixed reactions in my family. I said I am going to make a new type of dish with fewer spices you will love it. In my mind, I am thinking to make Methi Mouri chicken.
Methi(Fenugreek seeds) and Mouri( Fennel Seeds) has a distinctive flavor and aroma. I believe these two spices have magic on it. After having various types of chicken dishes I made this dish with very few ingredients. The aroma and the flavor make the dish into another level. Even you don't need Garam Masala in this dish. You can have it with any rice items or flatbreads.

Ingredients:

500 gms curry cut chicken pieces
1 medium-size onion(chopped)
4 tbsp yogurt
1 1/2 tsp methi seeds( fenugreek seeds)
1 1/2 tsp mouri seeds ( fennel seeds)
2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp red chili powder
2 tsp Kasuri methi
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 dry whole red chili
Salt for seasoning
Mustard oil as needed

Instructions:

1.  In a mixing bowl add chicken, yogurt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, and mix very well.

2. In a wok or Kadai heat 4 tbsp of mustard oil, add dry red chili and methi and mouri. After it starts crackling add chopped onions. Fry it until light brown.

3. Add marinated chicken, mix well cover and cook for 5 mins after 5 mins add ginger paste mix well. Low the flame, cover, and cook for 15 mins.

4. After 15 mins, stir it medium flame and cook the chicken, the chicken will cook by now. Add Kasuri methi mix well and switch off the flame.

6. Delicious Methi Mouri Chicken is ready to serve. Serve it hot with rice dishes or flatbreads.
