4 Rice Ideas for your weekend

4 Rice ideas for your weekend:

Rice Dishes, Biryani, Pulao

I assembled four delicious rice dishes to try at weekends or on normal days. Why I refer to weekends because these dishes are a bit time consuming to make, but worth it.

Chicken Biryani the name is enough to start craving immediately, I don't need to explain more. This chicken biryani recipe is based on Kolkata style. The Kolkata style Biryani is different from other Biryani as the meat and the rice cooked separately then layered with spices to slow cook or steam. The outcome is drool-worthy and scrumptious.

Ilish Pulao is made out of marinated Hilsa or Ilish fish steamed with rice, it is a delicacy from Bengal. Ilish/Hilsa or shad fish is a very succulent and delicious fish. Normal Hilsa or Ilish curry is awesome in taste and when it comes to pulao it is more delicious. This Ilish pulao is quite different and it is my grandmom's recipe. For this pulao, we wrapped marinated Hilsa fish in Pumpkin leaves then steam in the white rice. The fish and rice both cook along and become the most scrumptious rice dish.

Rui Macher Pulao/ Rohu Fish Pulao is another fish delicacies of Bengal. Rohu fish is a popular fish among the State of the West Bengal. This is also an heirloom recipe. My dad used to cook this dish very well, I learned from him. Rohu fish first cooked in spices then mix with rice to make pulao.

Shrimp Biryani/ Chingri macher Biryani is a delicacy. First, we lightly fry the shrimp then cook it and blend it in rice and steam to make pulao. The smell of this seafood and the aroma of the spice is very welcoming.
