In Bengal in festivals or occasions chutney served with the meal. Common Bengali chutneys were made with Tomato, Papaya, Apple, Pineapple, Mango, and dry fruits.

In my family, everyone loves this chutney. The main ingredients are apple and Tomato, accompanies with raisin and dates. The main spice of this chutney is Paanch Foran, a Bengali spice, a combination of Fennel, Mustard, Cumin, nigella, and fenugreek seeds.  For making chutneys usually, we use white sugar or Jaggery. I used brown sugar which is similar to jaggery. Brown sugar or jaggery enhances the color of the chutney and taste. Small piece of tamarind and juice of lemon gives it a sweet and sour tangy taste. The best thing is it is very nutritious and healthy, often children don't like to eat fruits it is the best way to put on their diet. This mouthwatering chutney is very easy to make and can make a meal more savory.
