Dai Phuchka Chaat/Panipuri Dahi chaat( small flat bread puffs with spices and yogurt)

Panipuri is a popular street food, found in several region of India. In East India it called Phuchhka and in North India it is known as Golgappa. It is flavored by making hole on it and stuffed it with tamarind or pudina(mint) water, spicy mashed potato, chat masala, sweet chutney etc. 

The name of Phuchhka drools me always. The tangy taste of tamarind water with spicy stuffing,amazed me in every way. The thela(street stalls) of Phuchhka's are found in every streets and bazaar of India after dawn. In USA, phuchhka stalls is not very easy available everywhere but ready to eat fried phuchhka packet is available in Indian grocery store. In my family we always love to have it. Today I made Dai (yogurt)Phuchhka which is actually a chaat preparation. Preparation and ingredients are quite long but satisfying taste buds with Dai(yoghurt)phuchhka chaat just worth it. 

Preparation time - 45 - 50 minutes

Ingredients:-


1 pack ready to eat panipuri/phuchhka

1 big potato boiled and mashed

1/2 cup boiled chickpeas/ Chole

1 cup sweet tamarind chutney

1 cup green coriander chutney

1 cup  besan sev

1 cup beaten yogurt

1/2 cup  besan boondi

1 tsp red chili powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tbsp chaat masala

1/2 cup chopped coriander /cilantro

1 tbsp lemon juice

Salt for seasoning






Method:-


In a bowl add mashed potato, boiled chickpeas,red chili powder, coriander powder,cumin powder, chaat masala, lemon juice, chopped cilantro and salt. mix it all nicely and keep aside.

Arrange remaining all ingredients in separate bowls.

Take a panipuri make a hole on it and fill it with 1 tsp of mashed potato filling,1 tsp of sweet chutney, 1 tsp of green chutney,1 tsp of beaten yogurt, 1 tsp of besan boondi and 1 tsp of besan sev. Sprinkle some chaat masala and garnish with chopped cilantro, do same to all. Gobbled it after making it otherwise it will not be crunchy and crispy any more. Enjoy😃
