Macher Dimer Tok/ Ilish Macher Dimer Tok:
Hilsa or Ilish fish is a very common and favourite among Bengalis in India, Bangladesh, and Tripura. The array of dishes is made out of this fish, my favourites are Doi Ilish, Ilish Pulao, and Sarse Ilish. Only Ilish mach bhaja( fried Hilsa fish steak) is awesome in taste. The best part is the Hilsa fish egg or roe, which is very tasty and a delicacy among Bengali fish recipes. I love Hilsa fish like anything so on my birthday Mom used to make dishes out of Hilsa fish and egg. Among them, Kacha aam diye Ilish macher dimer tok( A sour curry made with raw mango and Hilsa fish egg ) is my favourite. After a long time, I went to an Indian grocery and bought some Hilsa fish along with Hilsa egg separately. Other than frying them in mustard oil or making spicy curry I craved my mom's recipe, Kacha Aam diye Ilish macher dimer tok. I called Mom and asked for her recipe and last Sunday I made Kacha aam diye Ilish Macher dimer Tok. It tastes awesome and it is easy to make. Ready in 15 minutes.
I used raw mango as my mom used to, however, tamarind can be used to make this dish instead of raw mango. Try this recipe and leave your comments in the comment box below. Will be back with some exciting delicacy dishes in my next blog.
